On January 25, 2023, The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the extension and redesignation of Haiti for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for 18 months.
Temporary Protected Status (TPS) is a temporary status given by the United States government to eligible nationals of designated countries, as determined by the Secretary of Homeland Security, who are present in the United States. Once granted TPS, an individual is eligible to receive work authorization.
Only individuals who are already residing in the United States as of November 6, 2022, will be eligible for TPS.
The reregistration period runs from January 26, 2023 through March 27, 2023. There is no need to reapply if you already have an application pending from the previous registration period.
